These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the StepRewards app ("Service") operated by Bakkum ("Company," "we," "us").

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.


1. Service Overview

StepRewards is a rewards app that lets you earn points by walking and redeem them for gift cards or cash.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

  1. You must be at least 14 years old (or the age of consent in your jurisdiction).
  2. One account per person. Multiple accounts are not allowed.
  3. You must provide accurate information when registering.
  4. You are responsible for keeping your account secure.
  5. Accounts may not be transferred or shared.

6. Prohibited Activities and Fraud

The following are strictly prohibited:

  1. Manipulating or faking step counts
  2. Using automation tools, emulators, or hacking techniques
  3. Creating multiple accounts
  4. Abusing the referral system
  5. Interfering with the normal operation of the Service
  6. Using another person's account without authorization
  7. Acquiring points through any fraudulent means

We use device fingerprinting, step pattern analysis, location data, usage behavior, and other methods to detect fraud.

8. Service Changes and Termination

  1. We may modify or discontinue any part of the Service as needed.
  2. If we discontinue the Service, we will provide at least 30 days' notice.
  3. Upon service termination, we will provide a reasonable period to use remaining points.

9. Limitation of Liability

  1. We are not liable for service interruptions due to force majeure or system failures.
  2. We are not liable for damages caused by your actions or negligence.
  3. Our liability for third-party service errors (payment processors, gift card issuers) is limited.
  4. We do not compensate for changes in point value.
  5. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have withdrawn from the Service in the 12 months prior to the claim.

11. Account Deletion

  1. You may delete your account at any time through the app.
  2. All remaining points will be forfeited upon deletion.
  3. Personal data will be handled according to our Privacy Policy.
  4. You may re-register with the same email, but previous points will not be restored.

12. Changes to These Terms

  1. We may update these Terms with at least 7 days' prior notice.
  2. Material changes will be notified 30 days in advance.
  3. If you disagree with the changes, you may stop using the Service and delete your account.
  4. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
